Parent & Carer Engagement
At The Alice Springs Steiner School, we view parents and carers as vital partners in their child’s education. We encourage families to take an active interest in their child’s learning—at school, at home, and in the wider community—helping to strengthen the connection between home life and the classroom.
Research shows that parent engagement greatly supports student success, from early literacy and school adjustment to motivation, social skills, and wellbeing. By showing interest in what children are learning and by valuing education, parents can profoundly influence their child’s growth. At TASSS, there are many opportunities to be involved: attending Parent/Teacher evenings, volunteering, joining the school council, and participating in talks, workshops, and community events such as seasonal festivals, concerts, plays, and bush dances.
Choosing our school means joining a community where education is a shared journey. Families who engage in this partnership help create a nurturing environment that fosters cooperation, responsibility, and a love of learning.
