Relief Teachers - Primary School

The Alice Springs Steiner School is seeking enthusiastic and flexible Primary School Relief Teachers to support our Class 1–6 programs on a casual basis.

The Alice Springs Steiner School is located on beautiful Arrernte Country, just 10 minutes from the heart of Mparntwe / Alice Springs. Established in 1998, the school has grown into a vibrant and inclusive community offering an education for the future, inspired by the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner. Our school currently caters for children from Preschool to Class 9, providing a rich and nurturing curriculum that balances academic learning with artistic, practical, and outdoor experiences. We are committed to supporting the development of each child’s head, heart, and hands.

Our Primary School students experience a broad and balanced Steiner curriculum including English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Music, Visual Arts, Craft, Gardening, and Physical Education.

About the Role

We are seeking local relief teachers who are available to work on a casual basis to cover teacher absences in our primary school classes (Class 1–6).

Relief teachers will:

• Deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences following the Steiner curriculum and teacher plans provided.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Maintain class rhythm and uphold the values of the school.

• Collaborate positively with staff and communicate effectively with students.

Requirements

• Current NT teacher registration or the ability to obtain it.

• Previous classroom teaching experience, preferably in primary school settings.

• A demonstrated interest in, or willingness to learn about, Steiner education principles.

• Current Ochre Card (Working With Children Clearance).
