Term 3 Off to a Flying Start!

Term three is off to a flying start. We had our Early Childhood Open Afternoon where families came together to look at our wonderful Early Childhood playgrounds and classrooms. M’Lis gave a great talk on what to expect and they also got to meet some teachers and went home with a special tote bag with some information packs and a little peg doll to make at home with their little ones.

Class camps have also been a hoot with children embarking on different journeys across the Central and Barkly Regions. Class 1 had their first camp at our school under the East Macdonnel Ranges/Tjoritja, Class 2 went to Simpsons Gap, Class 3 are off to Tamara Date Farm, Class 4 went to Sandy Bore/Tali Walpa, Class 5 did Section One of the Larapinta Trail, Class 6 went to the Uluru/Kata Tju?a and Wattarka National Parks and Class 7 went to Kakadu!

We were blessed to have East of West visit us and hold a beautiful concert for the whole school at assembly. They then did workshops with all the classes throughout the day which included signing, body percussion and more. It was a wonderful, gentle start to the week for the children who thoroughly enjoyed it all. 

With the rain we've had our farm garden is flourishing! Class 6 have been busy planting seeds and seedlings, collecting eggs from our cute chickens who, in fact, had some little chicks! Class 6 are also busy coordinating our Wednesday Farm Garden Stall. 

Thanks to our parents and teachers who joined in a working bee to brighten up our school entrance and front of office area. The plants were tended to and are looking lush and tidy. This made our entrance so much more inviting! 

With Book Week around the corner, families are getting ready for dress up day which is always so much fun. From the Magic of the Faraway Tree to Wings of Fire, children are dreaming up costumes for the special assembly where they will present their efforts on Tuesday the 25th of August.
