The first Steiner/Waldorf School was founded by Rudolf Steiner for children of factory employees in Stuttgart (Germany) in 1919.
Since then the Steiner/Waldorf School Movement has grown to over 800 schools in 40 countries, over 50 of them in Australia. There are some 1200 kindergartens worldwide.
Increasing recognition from parents and educators has led to rapid expansion, currently it is the largest non-sectarian, independent school movement in the world.
In Victoria several government schools are offering Steiner/Waldorf streams as an option for students. |
